Life

You know how they say, "If you want to hear God laugh, tell him your plans?"  That would have been a good title for this post.  Or I could have titled this post Changes: Take Two, but I thought Life was a more appropriate title.  Because life is the reason I haven't posted to the blog in a year.  But here I am again!  I'm sorry it has been so long, but as those of you with little humans know, life is C.R.A.Z.Y.!  Then add your full-time job.  And add the graduate courses you are working on.  There's just not enough time in the day.  And my blog is one of the things to take a back burner.

The past year has flown by though and a new one is coming with even MORE changes.  No, no babies this year.  But I am changing districts and grade levels.  Say whaaaat? Yep! I will be teaching fourth grade in the next county over this school year.  Those are two things I never thought I would say! I am a little nervous to be teaching fourth graders, and I am way nervous to make the jump to another district, but I am very excited.  I love my new school and my new team.  I know this year is going to be awesome!

So let's do a super quick recap of my year.  I found out that I was not just going to be teaching third grade, but that I was going to be departmentalized and only teaching third grade ELA and Social Studies.  It was...different for sure.  I have to say, I loved all of the 39 students I had this year, but I was not a fan of departmentalizing.  I won't go into it now, but maybe I will write a post later about why I was not a fan.  Anywho, I made it to the second day of school before I had Warren.  I left early that second day for my doctor's appointment.  At midnight that night, I woke up in labor. Almost four and a half hours later, I delivered my rainbow baby.  And he was the exact opposite of his brother from the moment he was born.  He is so quiet and laid back and Wyatt is wide open.  All. The. Time. They balance each other out nicely though.

I went back to work fairly quickly after this pregnancy.  I felt the pressure to help raise our school grade, and we did!  My third graders did amazing on the FSA and our school raised our grade to a high "C."  I know that my friends at HCES will continue to bring that grade up, and I'm a little sad that I won't be there to see it.  However, change is good and it helps us grow and it was what my family and I needed.  With new employee and new teacher orientation next week I am pretty much on my last week of summer.  While I was glad to be able to spend the time with my boys, I will be excited to see my new students and get to hang out with people older than three years old. 😉

My new school is doing a Space theme so I am getting to pull my Star Wars decorations out!  Woohoo!  I will do a classroom reveal for my next post.  I can't wait to show you!  I should finish up next week.

'Til then,
God Bless!
